- Proprioceptors: consists of mechanosensory neurons found in muscles, tendons, and skin. These receptors allow us to know when and how far to stretch your legs and arms while walking and reaching. It also provides Rapid feedback about body and limb position.
- Exteroreceptors: They are found on the body surface which respond to stimuli from outside the body like sound, touch, smell, vision, temperature, pain, etc.

Note: Sensory receptors serve as a frontline because they are in contact with the stimulus. Taste or gustatory receptors, odor, or olfactory receptors have receptor molecules that undergo a process of binding to chemicals in the stimuli.
