Father’s Name of Mahavira was Siddhartha and his mother’s name was Trishala. He was a very learned person and received the Education of Excellent level. He married Yasodhara and he had a daughter ‘Priyadarshini’ and Priyadarshini married Jamali. Later, Jamali was the first disciple of Mahavira to follow Jain Dharma.

Complete Step by step explanation:
Mahavira left worldly life at the age of 30 in the search of ‘Truth of Life’. He was struggling in the search of life truth for 12 years. After discarding clothes he practiced penance and austerities for 12 years. After continuous and severe penance for 12 years, on the 10th day of Vaisakha, outside of Jimbi Kgram town, he gained perfect knowledge or ‘Kaivalya’ at the age of 42 years while meditating under a Sal tree beside the river Rijjupalika.
For his final deliverance from the bonds of pleasure and pain, Vardhamana became Mahavira as a great hero of Jainism. He was also known as Kevalin. His disciples were known as ‘Nirgranthas’.
Mahavira spread Jainism far and wide. He preached 8 months in a year and spent 4 months of the rainy season in some famous town. He preached Jainism Champa, Vaisali, Rajagriha, Mithila, and Sravasti. He visited King Bimbisara and King Ajatasatru, who was the Emperor of Magadha and their capital was Rajgriha. King Chandra Pradyota of Avanti embraced Jainism. He passed away at Pava in 527 BC. He was a contemporary of Gautam Buddha. Mahavira prescribed some ethical code for a householder and a monk.

Note: Jain Dharma was divided into two ways, Swetamvar and Digamvara during the first counseling of Jain Dharma in the Presence of Sthulibhadra Jain. He prescribed a threefold path for leading a pure and austere life that is Right Belief, Right Knowledge, and Right Conduct. Digamber Jain followed the naked tradition while Swetamber Jain followed the White dress.
