Complete step by step solution: At present, there are 543 Lok Sabha constituencies in India. The maximum size of Lok Sabha as per the Indian Constitution is 550 members made up of 530 members representing people of the states of India by the process of elections and up to 20 members representing people from all the Union Territories on the basis of their population size and not more than 2 members of the Anglo-Indian Community to be nominated by the President of India.
A total of 131 seats which is almost 24% are reserved for representatives from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. The quorum for the House of people is 10% of its total membership. The Lok Sabha has a seating capacity of 550 as of now.
Lok Sabha is the lower house of Indian Parliament, Rajya Sabha being the upper house. Members of Lok Sabha are elected by adult universal suffrage and these elected members hold their seats for five years or until the body is dissolved by the President of India on the advice of the Council of Ministers. The 17th Lok Sabha was elected in May 2019 and is the latest to date.
