Hint:-The structure of cells varies with the function. Therefore different types of tissues are found in the body animal at different locations. Depending on their location structure and function animal tissues have been broadly classified into four types. Tissue first evolved in coelenterates.
Complete answer:
A group of cells similar in structure, function and origin constitutes a tissue.
In human heart four main types of tissues are found these are
1. Epithelial tissue
2. Connective tissue
3. Muscular tissue
4. Nervous tissue
Now let’s learn about these tissues in detail:
1. Epithelial tissue-Epithelial tissue which is also commonly referred as epithelium is made up of one or more layers of cells that lines the external and internal structure of various parts of the body.
2. Connective tissue-This tissue is derived from the mesodermal layer of embryos. This is the most abundant tissue in the body. The main function of connective tissue is to connect different organs and tissues of the body and provide support.
Connective tissue is composed of mainly three components; these components are Connective tissue cells, matrix and fibers.
3. Muscular tissue-In heart cardiac muscles is found cardiac muscles have properties of both smooth muscles and skeletal muscles. In cardiac muscles sarcolemma(plasma membrane of muscle) is absent In cardiac muscles intercalated discs are present and they are unbranched and uninucleated. Heart muscles are myogenic and they never get tired.
4. Nervous tissue-Nervous tissue develops from the embryonic ectodermal layer the main function of nervous tissue is communication between the various body parts. Nervous tissue is composed of neurons and neuralgia cells.
Note:-
- Epithelial tissue is formed from all the three embryonic layers during embryonic development it means from ectoderm, endoderm and mesoderm.
- Term epithelium was given by Ruysch.
- During evolution epithelial tissue is evolved first.
- During embryonic development epithelial tissue is formed first.
- Cardiac muscles found in the heart are also present in the main blood vessels which are present at the junction of the heart.
- Term tissue is given by Bichat.
- The study of tissue is called histology.
