Hint: Natural resources, such as fossil fuels, are the resources that occur naturally on earth by undergoing thousands of years of transformation under immense amounts of pressure and temperature. These resources form an integral part of our lives. Naturally occurring resources computes of air, water, sunlight, coal, petroleum, natural gas, fossil, oil, etc.
Complete step by step answer: Natural resources, for instance, fossil fuels, are formed through biochemical decay of dead remains of plants and animals subjected to intense pressure and temperature, while air, water, and sunlight are naturally occurring resources. The latter are inexhaustible, however, the former is limited and exhaustible. They need to be conserved in order to preserve them for the coming generations. Moreover, there are multiple reasons and sources of pollution which is degrading air, water, and overall environmental quality. Fossil fuels such as coal, petroleum are widely used as fuels for vehicles, electricity generation, and various other purposes. Therefore, they are used in large quantities due to which these need to be used wisely.
Here are the five things that I have done over the last week to conserve our natural resources:
1. Repaired leaky taps for saving water.
2. Saved electricity by switching off unnecessary lights and fans.
3. I have not purchased plastic toys since plastic is a major pollutant.
4. Took part in community awareness meetings regarding environmental conservation.
5. Used public transport instead of the parent’s car.
Following are the five things which I have done over the last week to increase the pressure on our natural resources:
1. Wasted food.
2. I did not switch off any room’s light last night.
3. Wasted water during bathing.
4. Burnt coal in the fireplace.
5. Visited a friend’s house in a car while I could have used a bicycle.
Additional Information:
Sometimes resources become so rare that they can no longer be used. In these cases substitute resources may be used, which may make a poorer quality product or one that is more expensive. The wise use of resources includes not throwing away products that are reusable or recyclable.
Note: Other ways to conserve natural resources are:-
Environment education must be imparted regarding reducing, reusing & recycling of non-renewable resources, planting of more & more trees, by increased use of biogas, over-passing must be prevented.
