Motilal Tejawat headed the Eki Movement. He was born in the state of Rajasthan in Koliyari. He studied till class fifth. After that, he started working in the nearby village Tehsil where he closely observed the suppression of the Bhils people by the Thakurs and the British. He, therefore, decided to leave that post and then started working as a shopkeeper in the city of Udaipur, where he was tortured and sometimes even beaten mercilessly. After this humiliation, he decided to be a part of the political activities. He was deeply touched by the Bijolia Movement, and soon after that, he decided to do some good work for the upliftment of the Bhils community. He then arranged various meetings for the Bhils people and appealed to them to join him in this movement. Within a month, he was capable of combining the whole group of Adiwasi's to support him during the protest. But in the year 1922, Major H.G. Sutton gave the order of shoot at site to his commandos. This constant firing on people resulted in the death of 1200 people. Motilal Tejawat somehow manages to escape from there. At the end, the Maharana of the state agreed on eighteen out of twenty-one demands of the Bhils.

Note: After killing 1200 villagers, the British force captured their villages and set almost all the houses to fire. This cruel act of British took away the life of 1800 peoples along with their homes burned into ashes. This is how the Eki Movement finally came to an end in the year 1922.
