Let us discuss who ruled the Kingdom of Mysore. Mysore was ruled by Hindu Wodeyar dynasty. They initially served under the Vijayanagar Empire. Yaduraya Wodeyar Was the first Emperor. At the time of the seventeenth century, Mysore experienced sustained growth in per capita income, structural change in the economy, increased pace of technological innovation, and reached the height of its economic and military power. After the death of Krishnaraja Wodeyar II , In 1761 Hyder Ali became the ruler after the death of Krishnaraja. Tipu Sultan was the son of Hyder Ali. They had made four Anglo-Mysore wars. They won in the first two Anglo-Mysore wars. At the end of the second Anglo-Mysore wars Hyder Ali was dead. Tipu Sultan died in the fourth Anglo-Mysore war at the battlefield. After the defeat, the large territory was divided into four parts, British, Marathas and Nizams took the three parts and the remaining small part was provided to Krishna Wodeyar III. He was made a puppet ruler under the control of British to Mysore.
