If the degree of the equation is greater than 2, we convert the given equation into a polynomial of lesser degree by finding a root of that equation by hit and trial method and then dividing the original equation by the factor. This way we can decrease the degree of the polynomial and find its roots one by one. If the polynomial is already of a degree 2 then we can solve it simply by any of the methods like factorization, completing the square, quadratic formula, etc.
