Hint:$N{{a}_{2}}C{{O}_{3}}$ is known by the name sodium carbonate and other name of this is washing soda, soda ash and soda crystals. It is an inorganic compound having various hydrates and all forms of this are white in color. It was extracted from ashes of plants growing in sodium rich salts.
Complete step-by-step answer:Sodium carbonate is produced in large quantities from sodium chloride and limestone by the process known as Solvay process which can also be known as ammonia-soda process which is an industrial process for the production of sodium carbonate. It is soluble in water.
Sodium carbonate is a basic salt formed by the combination of sodium hydroxide represented by the molecular formula $NaOH$and carbonic acid represented by ${{H}_{2}}C{{O}_{3}}$. Now we know that sodium hydroxide is a strong base as base has a property of containing hydroxide ion in them and $NaOH$contain OH ions and on the other hand acids are those substances which have hydrogen ions i.e. ${{H}^{+}}$ ions in them and here carbonic acid is known to as weak acid and the reaction between the both can be explain as follows:
$2NaOH+{{H}_{2}}C{{O}_{3}}\to N{{a}_{2}}C{{O}_{3}}+2{{H}_{2}}O$
Hence from this we can conclude that reaction is occurring between strong base and weak acid due to which the product formed is salt which is basic in nature i.e. $N{{a}_{2}}C{{O}_{3}}$ is basic salt.
Note: There are many applications of sodium carbonate which is used as a cleansing agent for washing of clothes, used for removing temporary and permanent hardness of water and used in the manufacturing of glass, soap and paper.
