It is expected that the industry will manufacture 4,000 units of coaches in the fiscal year of 2019-20. Thus, railway coaches are the main industrial product of the Perambur centre.
iii. Chittaranjan- Chittaranjan Locomotive Works is an Indian based electric locomotive manufacturer, located at Chittaranjan in Asansol city in West Bengal. It has an ancillary industry in Dankuni. The Chittaranjan Locomotive industry is located about 237 km away from Kolkata. It was founded in 1950 and is a public-sector industry. It is the largest locomotive producing industry in the world, with a record of 431 locomotives produced in the year 2019-20. Therefore, locomotives are the most noted industrial product of Chittaranjan.
