It is a 428 kilometers long highway in the Indian Himalayas and one of the most celebrated highways among adventure seekers all across the world. 178 kilometers of the road is present in Himachal Pradesh and the remaining 250 kilometers is in Ladakh.

This road has been built and maintained by the Border Roads Organisation and it supports heavy army vehicles.
