Hint:Plasmolysis is the method in which cells forfeit water in a hypertonic solution. The reversal process, deplasmolysis or cytolysis, can happen if the cell is in a hypotonic solution arising in a lower superficial osmotic tension and a net flow of water into the cell.

Complete answer
Before we discuss the options, let us know a little more about plasmolysis. If a plant cell is spotted in a hypertonic solution, the plant cell misses water and hence turgor stress by plasmolysis: pressure reduces to the juncture where the protoplasm of the cell scrapes away from the cell wall, vacating gaps among the cell wall and the coating and giving rise to the plant cell diminish and wrinkle. A prolonged decline in pressure ultimately leads to cytorrhysis – the comprehensive collapse of the cell wall.

Option D: When a living cell is positioned in an adequately potent solution of an acceptable agent, plasmolysis happens. There are three phases of plasmolysis, incipient, apparent and final plasmolysis. The fact at which the protoplast is just pulled out from the cell wall at intersections is named incipient plasmolysis. When protoplast is entirely severed from the cell wall, it is named obvious plasmolysis. When cytoplasm is established at the centre of the cell, it is called as ultimate plasmolysis. Therefore, this is the correct option. As option D is the correct answer, option A, B and C is an incorrect option.

Hence the correct answer is option ‘D’.

Note:Plasmolysis can be of two categories, either concave plasmolysis or convex plasmolysis. Convex plasmolysis is constantly irreversible while concave plasmolysis is generally reversible.
