ii) Create awareness for water pollution: You can speak to the people in your locality and make them aware of the problem they are facing. Educate them on how they can save water and how it can prevent them from facing more serious problems in the future.
iii) Recycling of water: You do not need high-grade technology to recycle water. It can be done at a household level also. The water that is used to wash vegetables or fruits can be put in the plants or trees. This way the water that goes down the drain can be used by plants.
iv) Improved sewage treatment: The water that goes untreated from the houses and factories into the rivers pollutes the water drastically. Proper sewage treatment plants can prevent the pollution of natural water bodies.

Note: Planting trees in the locality will also help to overcome the main problem of global warming. It will not only retain the water but also give fresh air that is the need of the hour. Similarly, rainwater harvesting can be the solution to retain the water coming through the natural way.
