There are 3 main types of Equality, including Social, economic and political equality. The Government has tried to enforce equality among the different sections of society in two ways. The two ways are;

- Through laws: There are various laws in India that safeguard every person’s right to be treated equally.For example, Equality before law implements that every person starting from the President of the country to a daily wager, has to abide by the same law.

- Through government strategies to aid unprivileged groups: The government has also set up different policies to enhance the lives of communities and individuals who have been treated unequally.
For example: Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY). This prominent strategy offers a platform for extensive access to banking services, like basic savings bank account, remittance facility, insurance and pension. According to the Government, a total of 60 per cent accounts have been opened in rural areas and 40 per cent in urban areas.
