Begun refers to a village present in Chittorgarh district. On the name of this village, the Begun Peasant Movement started. It was a movement of peasants against high taxes imposee by the Government of Mewar. This movement had started from Menal in the year 1921 in which farmers had gathered up and also decided to struggle against the government for the demand of implementation of the taxation system fair and reasonable.

The peasants of Begun were inspired by the 'Bijolia movement' and thus in the year 1921 CE, the Begun peasants' estate also had the idea to start this movement.
