Hint: Adolescence is the period marked between the beginning of puberty and adulthood, which begins at the age of 11 and lasts up to 18-19 years of age. During this period, the human body undergoes several changes in both male and female along with reproductive maturity. Changes that occur during this period of adolescence are- a sudden increase in the body weight and height, broadening of shoulders and chest in male while broadening of the pelvis in female, the prominence of adam’s apple in males, change of voice in males, growth of body hair including area under the arms and around genitals, acne on the skin due to excess sweat secretion and reproductive changes.
Complete answer:
During the period, hormone secretion causes changes in the body which involves all the above-mentioned points. Since it involves reproductive changes, body hair and sweating, teenagers must keep their personal hygiene in check. Teenagers should emphasize in being physically and mentally fit and healthy. Females should be more attentive towards personal hygiene when it comes to menstruation. Both males and females should keep their genitals clean and healthy to avoid infections and diseases such as sexually transmitted diseases etc. Sweating and active oil glands might become the reason behind the body odour and acne. So One must bathe regularly, do physical exercise and take adequate rest and sleep along with healthy eating habits and diet. As we all know practicing healthy habits keeps the mind and body fresh.
Note: Puberty and adolescence are not similar processes, puberty is referred to as starting years of adolescence. It is a period of sexual maturation and achievement of fertility in both males and females. In males, an increase in the size of genitals takes place while in females, they undergo menstrual cycle and the size of breasts increase.
