Hint: The internal framework of the body supports the muscles and other organs called skeleton system. It is made of axial and appendicular skeleton. Girdle is a set of bones present in the appendicular skeleton in arms and hips. They help in anchorage to axial skeleton.

Complete answer:
The axial skeleton is formed by the vertebral column, the rib cage, skull, and other associated bones. The other part of the skeleton is the appendicular skeleton. The appendicular skeleton helps in the attachment of the axial skeleton which includes the pectoral girdles, pelvic girdles, upper and lower limbs.

The pectoral girdles are also known as the shoulder girdles that provide the point of attachments of the upper limbs with the axial skeleton. It consists of the clavicle and the scapular bones. The clavicle is also known as the collarbone and is present in the anterior position. Clavicles are S- shaped bones that help to position the arms on the body. It is a long bone and serves as a connection between the shoulder blade and the sternum or the breastbone. It is the only bone lying in the horizontal plane. It forms a support to the scapula and forelimbs and allows the maximum movement of the arms. The pectoral girdle stabilizes the upper limbs on the thorax and allows a range of mobility at the shoulder. There are 4 bones present of pectoral girdle same in males and females which helps in holding, lifting etc.

The pelvic girdle helps in the attachment of the lower limbs and is important for carrying the weight of the body and is used for locomotion. It consists of ilium, ischium and pubis. The upper limbs contain many smaller bones which are divided into three regions which are arms, forearm and shoulders. The lower limb bone forms the legs and foot. It is found on the lower part of the trunk with around 2 bones 1 sacrum 2 Coccyx. In women gynaecoid pelvis is found whereas in males android pelvis. It helps in standing, jumping etc.

Note:
The human skeletal system is made up of 206 bones and is composed of cartilage, bones, ligaments and tendons. Bones help the movement of the body and it provides structural support to the body.
