Hint: The Roman empire was an ancient empire which lasted from 27 BC- 476 AD. It was an advanced civilization in terms of its political, social and economic development. Augustus Caesar was the first emperor of Rome and Romulus Agustulus was the last emperor of the great empire, he was overthrown by a Germanic king Odoacer in 476 AD.

Complete answer: It’s important to remember that the overthrowing of the king was not the only reason for the collapse of the empire. There were other major reasons for it, like:
- Barbaric attacks were extremely common in ancient Rome, from neighbouring kingdoms like the Goths. By the 300s this problem had gone out of hand and the barbarians had started encroaching the empire’s boundaries. If we had to solve this issue, we would increase military presence at the borders and successfully control the attacks.
- Economic issues and slavery in the Roman empire posed a huge problem, overspending on wars, frivolous spending had led to an economic crisis in Rome and added to that was the decrease in the number of slave labour (the roman economy was completely dependent on slaves) by the second century because expansion policies of the empire had stopped (lack of funds), and now they couldn’t capture people from territories and make them slaves. If we had to solve this economic crisis, we would change the labour force of the empire and create a system of paid labour.

Note: Other reasons responsible for the fall of the Roman empire were corruption and fragmentation of the empire. The Roman empire spread from North-Western Europe to the Near east and included the Mediterranean territories as well, as a result, it was divided into Eastern Rome and Western Rome, weak emperors couldn’t handle the huge geographical spread of the empire.
