Hint: Tissues have been synthesized with the homogeneous and heterogeneous cells as well. Cells can be differentiated in various types as per their functions like storage of food materials, parenchymal, stomatal cells, etc.
Complete answer:
Idioblasts are the group of cells that differs from the nearby cells on account of physiological and chemical characteristics. These idioblast cells store resins, essential oils, various pigments, silicates, minerals, oxalates, etc in the form of multiple crystals and act as reservoir cells in plant cells. Some of them can contain mineral crystals such as acrid tasting and poisonous calcium oxalate or carbon or silica. These cells can be classified into three types upon the basis of their functions-
a) Excretory Idioblast: Such types of cells store important oils, lipids, alkaloids, various minerals that have medicinal values and can be cultured for research.
b) Tracheoid Idioblast: These the elongated, reticulated lignified cells with distinct cell walls for holding water and differs from the vascular system of plant cells.
c) Sclerenchymatous Idioblast: These are the reduced and thick lignified cells, synthesized from the Sclerenchyma cells and arranged as a bundle sheet for providing mechanical strength basically.
Hence, the correct answer of the given question is an option (C) both a & b, from the given above explanation you guys will make sure why other options are not the correct answer of this question.
Note: Idioblast cells are the precursor cells of various distinguished cells like guard cells, stomata, daughter cells, etc, and they play an important role in the defense system of plant cells, throughout toxins as well.
