Hint: We will first divide both the sides of the given equation 4 (x + 1) = 32 by 4. Then we will subtract 1 from both the sides of the equation thus obtained and we will have the required answer.

Complete step by step solution:
We are given that we are required to solve 4 (x + 1) = 32.
Taking the 4 from multiplication in the left hand side to division in the right hand side, we will then obtain the following equation with us:-
$ \Rightarrow x + 1 = \dfrac{{32}}{4}$
Simplifying the right hand side of the above equation by simplifying the calculations, we will then obtain the following equation with us:-
$ \Rightarrow $x + 1 = 8
Taking the 1 from addition in the left hand side to subtraction in the right hand side, we will then obtain the following equation with us:-
$ \Rightarrow $x = 8 – 1
Simplifying the right hand side of the above equation by simplifying the calculations, we will then obtain the following equation with us:-
$ \Rightarrow $x = 7

Note: The students must note that here, we have one equation with one unknown variable x, therefore, it can be easily solved for the value of x. This implies that we need as many equations with us as many unknown variables we have so that we get a particular set of solutions like in the above solution, we got x = 7.
The students must also note that we have a linear equation in the above question. Linear equation means the equation with degree 1, therefore, only one possible value of x came out to be the answer. If we would have had a quadratic equation, we would have obtained 2 possible values of x (unless it was an equation with same roots).
