The concept of chemistry that is based on the laboratory experiment that is carried out and the process of handling the chemicals and also several instruments in the laboratory are familiar to us.
Let us write the process we carry out in the laboratory in the theory form.
- The test tube is made of good quality glass and this item has to be handled with care while heating along with the chemical in it.
- The test tube is to be held in a slant way with respect to the Bunsen burner while heating because some of the chemicals may spill out and this may directly fall on our skin or spill on as if the test tube was held straight.
- Therefore, the slant way of heating a test tube is a safer way. Also while heating the test tube goggles are to be used for safety of your eyes.
- Make sure that you heat the test tube in a way by pointing it away from other people or other things in the laboratory.
- Heating the test tube at the top allows the gases formed to escape from it without forcing liquids to come to top of the tube.
Note: Be careful about the accidents that happen during the heating of the test tube and suppose if the test tube breaks or if any chemically is spilled out on the skin, make sure that you immediately you’re your hands with water continuously.
