How do producers get energy?

Hint: Producers are not dependent on any other organism for obtaining energy but they are capable of synthesizing energy by themselves using solar energy.
Complete answer:
1)Mostly the plants are producers, which means they are capable of converting the sunlight that is the solar energy into chemical energy. The entire process of this energy conversion is known as photosynthesis. During photosynthesis, the green plants use the raw materials in the presence of sunlight, and the products formed are mainly glucose and water. This glucose then undergoes cellular respiration which leads to the formation of pyruvate and ATP. The ATP is the source of energy for the plants.
2)Producers obtain their energy directly from solar energy but other organisms are dependent on these producers for obtaining energy. That is why animals and birds cannot obtain energy from solar energy directly through photosynthesis.
3)Animals are dependent on plants for energy, hence animals do not have chloroplasts whereas plants have chloroplasts that are very essential for the process of photosynthesis
Note: The highest amount of energy is possessed by the green plants because they are producers of energy and producers are the first one to obtain direct energy from the nature and hence they form the base of the energy pyramid and the plants supply energy directly or indirectly to the primary consumers, secondary consumers and the other trophic levels of the energy pyramid.
