Hint The actual yield of any substance tells us about the quantity of that very substance i.e., product which is formed at the end of the chemical reaction and if we know the percentage of the product formed and the theoretical yield of that very product formed, then by using them we can easily calculate the actual yield of the product formed. Now answer the given statement.
Complete answer:
First of let’s discuss what is actual yield. The actual yield is the yield of the substance produced during the reaction.
In other words, we can say that the amount of the product which is produced during the chemical reaction represents the actual yield.
Now considering the statement;
To calculate the actual yield of any substance i.e., the product obtained, we should first know about the percentage of the substance given in the statement and the theoretical yield of that very substance i.e., the product obtained and then, we can easily calculate the actual yield of that very product formed by using the formula as;
Thus, by using or applying this formula we can find the actual yield of the product formed during chemical reaction.
Note: Theoretical yield refers to the amount of the product that should be formed when the limiting reagent of the chemical reaction is completely used or consumed and, in that case, the reaction is stopped and no more product is formed. In other words, we can say that the amount of product is dependent on the limiting reagent of the chemical reaction.
