Guru Gobind Singh was born in Patna in the Sodhi Khatri family. He was the tenth Sikh guru also called the tenth nanak. His father was Guru Tegh Bahadur. He founded the Sikh warrior community called “ Khalsa “ in the year 1699. He is also credited with the “ Dasam Granth “. The birth name of Guru Gobind Singh was Gobind Rai.
He had three wives. He married Matta Jito on 21st June 1667 at Basantgarh and had three sons Jujhar Singh, Zoravar Singh, and Fateh Singh. Then he married Mata Sundari on 4th April 1864 and had one son Ajit Singh. Then his third wife was Mata Sahib Devan on 15th April 1700 and had no children. He referred to Mata Sahib Devan as “Mother of the Khalsa “.
