Hint: In the given question, we have been asked to find the number of sixties in two hundred forty four or we can say how many multiples of sixty. So now first of all try to find the multiples of \[60\] what I mean by multiple is the number which are completely divided by sixty like \[120,180\] etc. So you can find this by multiplying \[60\] with natural numbers i.e. \[1,2,3,4\] etc. or you can simply add \[60\] one by one. Or even you could just divide \[244\] with \[60\] and the quotient will be your answer.
Complete step by step solution:
Now according to question we have to find number of groups of \[60\] in \[244\] so what we will do is we will simply add \[60\] i.e.
We will start with \[0\]
\[
\Rightarrow 0 + 60 = 60 \\
\Rightarrow 60 + 60 = 120 \\
\Rightarrow 120 + 60 = 180 \\
\Rightarrow 180 + 60 = 240 \;
\]
Now if we further add more \[60\] to \[200\] we will get \[300\] which is greater than \[244\]
So now we got four groups \[60,120,180,240\]
So the answer to this question will be \[4\] .
So, the correct answer is “ \[4\] ”.
Note: In this question what we did was we simple start adding \[60\] to the last term starting from \[0\] but what you can also do is you can simply multiply \[60\] with natural number starting from \[1\] till \[4\] and at \[4\] you will get \[240\] now if you further multiply \[60\] with \[5\] you will get \[300\] which is greater than \[240\] . Also you could have just divided 244 by \[60\] and the quotient would have been your answer.
