Hint: Golgi apparatus was first discovered by Camillo Golgi in the year 1898 by the help of a light microscope. But the ultrastructure composition was investigated in the 1950s by the use of electron microscopes.

Complete answer:
The Golgi complex is also called as lipochondria in vertebrates and Dictyosomes or Golgi bodies in lower vertebrates. It is a very complex organelle consisting of a stack of cisternae, a network of tubules, vesicles and vacuoles that was first seen by George in 1867. But it was first discovered by Camillo Golgi in the nerve cells of barn owls and the cat through metallic impregnation technique (Osmium chloride + silver salts) and named this structure as internal reticular apparatus.

However its structure was studied under the electron microscope by Dalton and Felix in 1954. The site of Golgi apparatus is the Purkinje cell of the cerebellum of owls examined by electron microscopy. The objectives were described by the scientists Dalton and Felix in electron micrographs and called by them as Golgi apparatus. It seems likely that the Golgi apparatus of the cell as seen in the optical microscope is formed by the deposition of silver or osmium on the membranes of the endoplasmic reticulum that form a network throughout the cytoplasm of this cell.

Hence, the correct answer is option (B).

Note: The Golgi apparatus was first seen under an electron microscope by Dalton and Felix. Microtubules were discovered by De Robertis and Franchi, Peroxisome was discovered by Rhodin and Novikoff played a role in lysosome discovery.
