Hint:
Iron ores are rocks and minerals from which metallic iron can be economically extricated. The ores are usually wealthy in iron oxides. Also, it varies in colour from bright yellow, dark grey, or deep purple to rusty red.
Complete solution:
Resources are classified as either biotic or abiotic on the grounds of their origin. In India, we can find both biotic & abiotic resources. Coal, Iron ore, manganese ore, Mica, Bauxite Chromite, Natural gas, Diamonds, Limestone, and Thorium are India’s major mineral resources. In 1983 NNMRS was established for integrated natural resources management in the country. Planning Commission (India) and the Department of Space supported NNMRS. Iron ore is one of the major minerals. The iron is generally discovered in the form of magnetite (Fe3O4, 72.4% Fe), hematite (Fe2O3, 69.9% Fe), goethite (FeO(OH), 62.9% Fe), limonite (FeO(OH)·n(H2O), 55% Fe) or siderite (FeCO3, 48.2% Fe) whereas natural ore has very high quantities of hematite or magnetite. There are four types of iron ore we can found in India are (i) Magnetite (ii) Haematite (iii) Limonite (iv) Siderite. Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Jharkhand, Odisha, Goa, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Rajasthan, and Tamil Nadu are the vital Indian producers of iron ore.
Note:
Australia is the first country that produces maximum iron ore in the world. Australia contributes 30% of the iron ore in the world. Morroco contributes very little to iron ore. As per the data, India stands at the fourth number. Whereas Odisha is the largest producer of iron ore in India. Odisha accounts for half of the iron production in India.
