Woodblock print is also known as Block printing and it is used for printing text, patterns or images onto papers and textiles. Woodblock is considered as the oldest method of printing on cloth and it was first invented by China in the 6th century.
Reasons:
1. Marco Polo was the one who introduced woodblock printing in Europe in 1925.
2. He brought the knowledge of woodblock printing from China back to Italy after many years of exploration.
3. Gradually, this knowledge spread from Italy to other parts of Europe and paper reached Europe through silk route in the 11th century.

Woodblock printing is laborious, expensive and time-consuming work. Woodblock printing began to widely spread in Europe to print textiles, playing cards, religious pictures etc. Woodblock printing created the world's first print culture.
