Hint: When an object changes its position from any reference point continuously with respect to time, then the object is said to be in motion. Motion of any object can be defined in the terms such as- Distance, Displacement, Speed and time. In simple words, a body is said to be in motion when its position changes endlessly with respect to stationary (fixed) condition points.
Complete step by step solution:
Broadly, the motion can be classified in a number of ways.
Accordingly, there are two types of motion-
a) Uniform Motion
b) Non-Uniform Motion
Uniform Motion: When an object travels equal distance in equal interval of time it is called the uniform motion.
For Example
> The Earth rotates around the Sun and it completes one rotation in a fixed 24 hours.
> Train moving on the tracks at the steady speed
> The spring vibrating in the sewing machine
> A ship moving with the steady speed
Non- Uniform Motion: When an object does not travel equal distance in equal interval of time, is known as the non-uniform motion. It is also known as accelerated motion.
For example -
> The Vehicle travelling through the market area or the crowded area
> Airplanes moving through the cloudy area and then landing
> A girl running in the race
> A Man jogging in the garden
> A butterfly flying
Note:
Behind any motion, force acts on it. According to Newton’s laws of motion – Any object at rest or any stationary object does not move unless and until any force acts on it to start or to move the object. Correspondingly, an object remains in motion with the same speed and in the same direction until an external force acts on it. Anywhere an external force can change the speed and change the direction and it may also stop the object’s motion.
