Complete answer:
The environment is considered as the system that provides support to all forms on earth.
There are four domains of the environment that are lithosphere, the hydrosphere, the atmosphere, and biosphere.
1. Lithosphere: The solid part of the earth which consists of landforms such as plateaus, mountains, plains and valleys. The main components of the lithosphere are rock and minerals. A thin layer of soil is covered on it. Therefore, it comprises the crust, core, and mantle. This is considered to be a source of mineral wealth.
2. Atmosphere: Thin layer of air surrounding the earth is considered an atmosphere. Due to gravitational force earth can hold the atmosphere around it. The main components are various gases, dust, and water vapor. It protects the inhabitants of the earth from harmful rays of earth. It acts like a shield for the earth to protect it from sun rays.
3. Hydrosphere: Three-fourth of the earth is covered by water bodies which is around 71 percent. All the water bodies come under the category of hydrosphere such as lakes, seas, rivers, etc. Around 97.5 percent of Earth’s water is saltwater.
4. Biosphere: Due to the existence of a biosphere on earth, it makes it a unique planet in the solar system. It comprises a plant and animal kingdom. It is also called a living world. It is categorized as a narrow zone in which there is the interaction of land, water and air to support life. The last domain of the earth is the biosphere. The existence of this domain is till any part of earth in which love can flourish.
Note: The fundamental system that provides all forms of life is called an environment. The environment is natural as well as man-made. There are four domains of the earth which are the lithosphere, the hydrosphere, the atmosphere, and the biosphere.
