Hint:Humayun was the second Mughal emperor who ruled over India during the Mughal reign in India. He was forced to flee to Iran due to some internal problems and after his defeat at chausa and kannauj to Sher Khan.
Complete answer:
Humayun took over the throne of Delhi in December 1530 after his father Babur who was the founder of Mughal Dynasty in India. He was 22 when he came to power in the Indian subcontinent. As a ruler, Humayun was very inexperienced. Kabul and Kandahar that were the northernmost part of the empire of Babur were inherited by the step brother of Humayun after the death of Babur. Humayun was expelled from India after being defeated by an Afghan soldier Sher Shah of Sur in 1539 at Chausa and at Kannauj in 1540. He had to flee to Iran to seek shelter and support. Before reaching Iran in 1544, he had seeked support from Sindh and Marwar as well. In Iran, Shah Tahmasp granted him military aid to help him conquer Kandahar and Kabul that was taken over by his disloyal stepbrother Kamran after his father's death. In 1555, Humayun recovered Delhi and Agra again by defeating Sikandar Sur at Sirhind who was the rebel Afghan governor of Punjab. When Humayun flew to Iran, he was given shelter by Shah Tahmsaps there.
Hence, the correct answer is option (D).
Note: Shah tahmasp was the Persian king who provided military help to Humayun to help him conquer Kabul and Kandahar. He later annexed Agra and Delhi in 1555 by defeating Afghan forces of Sikander Sur.
