Bahlul Shah later succeeded Malik Sultan as governor under the rule of Muhammad Shah of Sayyid Dynasty. Muhammad Shah raised him to be a vigurous ruler with a strong personality. He conquered several territories around Delhi but among them the most successful war was of Jaunpur against Mahmud Shah Sharqi. Due to the weak position of Sayyids, Bahlul took advantage and over threw Sayyids and became the ruler himself starting from overtaking Punjab completely at first and then attacking and capturing Delhi. Husain Shah of Jaunpur attempted various attacks to destabilize Bahlul’s rule but always failed and he ruled Delhi till his last breath. He was an exceptional ruler of his dynasty and only one to rule Delhi long enough with an exception of Sher Shah Suri. He managed to seize the kingdom without much restraint from then ruler Alam Shah. His territory was spread across Jaunpur, Gwalior and Uttar Pradesh.
