Hint: A post office is a public facility that accepts letters and packages, provides post office boxes, and sells postage stamps, packaging, and stationery, among other services. Additional services provided by post offices differ by country. These include processing government services and fees, as well as offering and accepting government forms (such as passport applications).

Complete answer:
Anchal post was a pre-independence Indian mail service that began in the kingdoms of Travancore and Cochin. Anizham thirunal Marthandavarma started it in Travancore in 1729, and it spread to Cochin in the 1770s. Later it was amalgamated into the India Posts & Telegraph on 1 April 1951 after the Independence of India.

These cast-iron pillar boxes are around 100 cm tall and hexagonal in design. The Shankha, the state emblem, is depicted on the letterbox. On either side of the mail slot, a pair of tiny Shankha may be observed. The words Travancore Anchal, Anchal letterbox, and letters taken are imprinted on the box, with a Shankha emblem in the centre. It also shows when the letter is removed from the box. These letterboxes, which each weigh around 715 kilogrammes, can hold approximately 3000 letters and tiny parcels. They are embossed with the manufacturer's name, Massey & Co, Madras. Shankha is the Anchal post's symbol.

Note: In 1852, during the reign of Uthram thirunal Marthandavarma, the first Anchal post office was established in Alappuzha. In 1863, Travancore became the first state to have a telegraph. In 1912, during the reign of Diwan Raghava Iyer, a postal savings plan was established. In 1901, a money order service was established, and in 1921, an insurance system was established.
