Hint: Here, we will follow the step by step approach for the carpet and the kitchen garden. Since both are in the shape of a rectangle, use formula for the area of the rectangle equal to the product of length and breadth and perimeter as the sum of all the sides of the rectangle.

Let us consider that the area of the carpet is equal to the area of the rectangle ABCD and
Area of the kitchen garden is equal to the area of the rectangle EFGH
Now, both the areas of the carpet and the kitchen garden is the shape of the rectangle, so use formula, Area $ A = l \times b $ and
The perimeter, $ P = 2(l + b) $
Let, the length of the carpet is $ {l_c} = 10m $
The breadth of the carpet is $ {b_c} = 5m $
Area of the carpet, $ {A_c} = {l_c} \times {b_c} $
Place the values in the above equation –
 $ {A_c} = 10 \times 5 $
Simplify the above equation –
 $ {A_c} = 50{m^2} $ ............ (a)
Now, the perimeter of the carpet $ {P_c} = 2({l_c} + {b_c}) $
Place the values in the above equation -
 $ {P_c} = 2(10 + 5) $
Simplify the above equation –
 $ {P_c} = 2(15) $
 $ \Rightarrow {P_c} = 30m\,{\text{ }} $ ........... (b)
Similarly for the kitchen garden –
Let, the length of the kitchen garden is $ {l_k} = 3m $
The breadth of the kitchen garden is $ {b_k} = 2m $
Area of the kitchen garden, $ {A_k} = {l_k} \times {b_k} $
Place the values in the above equation –
 $ {A_c} = 3 \times 2 $
Simplify the above equation –
 $ {A_c} = 6{m^2} $ ............ (c)
Now, the perimeter of the kitchen garden $ {P_k} = 2({l_k} + {b_k}) $
Place the values in the above equation -
 $ {P_k} = 2(2 + 3) $
Simplify the above equation –
 $ {P_k} = 2(5) $
 $ \Rightarrow {P_k} = 10m\,{\text{ }} $ ........... (d)
From the equations (a), (b), (C) and (d) –
Area and perimeter of the carpet is $ 50{m^2}{\text{ and 30m}} $ respectively.
Area and perimeter of the kitchen garden is $ 6{m^2}\;{\text{and 10m}} $ respectively.

Note: Do not forget to put the unit after the perimeter and the area value. Remember perimeter is measured in units such as meters and centimetres while area is measured in square units such meter square and centimetre square and many more...
