Hint – In this question simply equate the given equation to 0, and solve for the value of x. This value of x satisfies the given equation and is the root of the polynomial.

Complete step-by-step solution -
Given polynomial (2x – 1)
Now as we know zero is nothing but the root of the polynomial.
So if we find out the root of the polynomial we have to equate the polynomial to zero.
Because the given polynomial has variable x which is the sign of x-axis so the root of this polynomial always lies on the x-axis so we have to equate the polynomial to zero (0).
$ \Rightarrow 2x - 1 = 0$
Now simplify the equation we have,
$ \Rightarrow 2x = 1$
Now divide by 2 we have,
$ \Rightarrow x = \dfrac{1}{2}$
So this is the required root (or) zero of the given polynomial.
So this is the required answer.

Note – Zero is another term used for root thus we need not to be confused between them. The equation given depicts a linear polynomial as the degree or the highest power of the variable involved is 1 only. A polynomial is an expression consisting of variables and coefficients.
