Tuzuk-e-Jahangiri or Tuzuk-i-Jahangiri, also known as Jahangirnama is the autobiography of the Mughal Emperor Jahangir. By writing this autobiography, he followed the tradition of his great-grandfather, Babur, who also wrote his autobiography called Baburnama.
The autobiography contains the first 19 years of his reign as the Mughal Emperor. He wrote it himself from the first page to the last. It is also believed that Jahangir actually wrote only 18 years of his reign in his autobiography and the 19th year was added by Muhammad Hadi after Jahangir’s death.

Other than the reign of Jahangir, the book also contains his opinions about art, politics and lesser known details about his family. It reflects his ideology on social and religious issues too. The manuscript that he originally wrote was filled with artistic illustrations done by his crew of painters. These illustrations however, could not be well preserved like the book itself and got vastly dispersed. Some of these illustrations were compiled by his sons and other family members.
