Hint: Chemical reaction is defined as a process which involves one or more reactants to form products under certain operating conditions. Chemical reaction proceeds with rearrangement of the atoms present in reactants to produce an entirely different substance as a product.
Complete answer:
Chemical reaction is composed of a number of different components like reactants, product, solvent etc.
Reactants are defined as the substance which are taken initially for starting the chemical reaction. Reactants are also known as starting material. Reactants have capability to undergo physical or chemical changes to produce products.
Products are defined as the substance which is formed after the completion of any chemical reaction. It is the final step of any chemical reaction.
Solvents are a very important component of chemical reaction. Change in chemical reaction will lead to the formation of different products. For example, when alkene undergo addition reaction in the presence of alkyl halide form a certain product according to Markonikov’s law but if we change the solvent and conduct the reaction in presence of hydrogen peroxide mechanism of reaction changes and it will leads to formation of product according to anti-Markovnikov's law.
Temperature is another component of chemical reaction which alter the rate of chemical reaction. In general the rate of reaction increases with increase in temperature but some reactions like adsorption of gases over solid support decreases with increase in temperature.
Note:
Some other aspects are also very important for a chemical reaction to complete like collision of reactant molecules, orientation of molecules undergoing reaction, presence or absence of enzymes or catalyst.
