Some of the non-biodegradable wastes (pesticides and heavy metals) on a piece of land convert it into barren land and enter the food chain. These affect human beings and other biotic components of the environment
Pesticides and many other chemicals such as DDT enter water and food chains. They deteriorate the fertility of soil and harm all kinds of living organisms. Human beings are harmed the most as they are present at the top of the food chain.
So when I pass near a heap of garbage I will get a foul smell.
The children who pick up garbage the whole day may not be affected by this smell as he becomes habitual to this smell.

People should not produce garbage on the open roads . People should adopt following changes in habit:
-Dispose household waste such as vegetable peels, chemical waste such as medicines and hospital waste in a landfill
-Broken plastic articles such as buckets, bowls, cups, plates, etc., should be sent to plastic processing factories.
