Hint: The fraction can be expressed by putting one number displayed above the line and a non – zero number which is displayed below that line. When any number is in the form of a percentage then it can be written in the form of divided by 100.
Complete step by step solution:
The fraction represents the part of the whole or more generally an equal number of parts. The common or simple fractions consist of the numerators or denominators. The fractions are expressed by using the line in which we put one number above the line and another number below that line. The above number is the number that is to be divided or divided and the number below the line is the number that will divide the number above the line or the divisor. In the fraction, the number which is to be divided is termed as numerator or the number above the line and the number which will divide the number above the line is termed as denominator or the number below the line. The denominator is always a non – zero number.
In the question, we have to express the percentage form into fractional form. When any number is in the form of a percentage then we can write 100 in the denominator of the 90.
So, 90% can be written in the form of a fraction as –
$ \Rightarrow \dfrac{{90}}{{100}}$
We can also express the above fractional form in its simplest form –
So, the common factor of 90 and 100 is 10. Therefore, dividing the whole fraction $\dfrac{{90}}{{100}}$ by 10, we get –
$
\Rightarrow \dfrac{{90 \div 10}}{{100 \div 10}} \\
\Rightarrow \dfrac{9}{{10}} \\
$
Hence, 90% in the form of a fraction can be expressed as $\dfrac{9}{{10}}$.
Note:
The percentage is the expression of the number as a fraction of 100. When any number is to be converted in the form of a percentage then, we can multiply it with 100 and then the percent sign after it.
