Hint: Sports men are players of any game or sports. They run during the game. At the time of the game they never want to be slipped. So to prevent slipping they use some special shoes with Spikes.
Complete step by step answer:
Sports men run normally during the sports. So sportsmen wants that they should have
Grip between their shoe and ground so they cannot slip. Running with normal (without spikes) is dangerous for them. So the spikes are provided in the sole or at Bottom of the shoe. It gives them a better grip while running.
Dare to spokes the Force of friction between the shoes and ground increases. This force of Friction increases due to spikes.
A surface will exert a force on a moving object then there are two forces one is normal force and other is frictional force. Every surface has a different coefficient of friction. Larger the value of coefficient of friction larger the value of friction and smaller the value of coefficient of friction means its lower the friction. Smooth surfaces provide lesser friction. There are two types of frictional forces : (1). Static friction- It is the friction which resists the initiation of motion. Static friction precisely opposes applied forces. If the applied force exceeds the maximum static frictional force the object begins to accelerate. (2) kinetic friction- it is the frictional force which resists the motion of a moving object.
Note:
The sportsmen use shoes to increase the frictional Force between the ground and shoes. By the use of spikes they prevent themselves from slipping or skidding during play.
