Hint: A SONAR is a device through which a pulses of sound waves send in the water which hits the objects in the water and reflect back to the surface. So the objects can be detected in the water with help of SONAR. SONAR device is used basically in Submarine the ships boat.

"SONAR" is a device which stands for Sound Navigation Ranging device. This device uses ultrasonic waves. A sonar instrument sends pulses of sound waves in the water. When these sound waves pulses hit objects likes Fish vegetation and any other objects they reflected back to the surface.
It measures the distance direction and speed of underwater objects and helps narrators to investigate nature, size and location of the object. So that potential threat to vehicles can be easily identified and overcome.
SONAR has a transmitter and receiver at the bottom of the ship. The ultrasonic waves transmitted by the transmitter travel through underwater and get reflected back from the obstacle. The detector receives the signal and converts it to an electric signal.
