(i) We need to know that by the mid- ${19^{th}}$ century in Europe, socialism was a popular body of ideas. Socialists were against private property. They saw it as the root of all social evils.
ii) Socialists favored society as a whole rather than single individually owned property. More attention would be paid to collective social interests.
(iii) We must remember that Marx said that in capitalism, factories were owned by the capitalists and the profit of capitalists was produced by workers. But the worker had to overthrow capitalism and the rule of private property.
(iv) We also remember that Karl Marx suggested that to free them from capitalist exploitation, we workers had to construct a radically socialist society. In a socialist society, all property was socially controlled.
