Hint: Usually we eat a variety of food. They are called food products and are composed of materials or ingredients. They are the substances necessary for the preparation of a specific food. These food resources come from two major natural sources.

Complete answer:
We are having all these food products and ingredients mainly from two sources including plants and animals.
Plants are a source of a wide range of nutrients needed to maintain the human body in proper functional condition. People consume anything including bananas, flowers, even plant stems, leaves and stem-like lettuce, celery, some plant roots like carrots, beetroot, and seeds including wheat, rice, etc.
Animal products are directly or indirectly used as food. Milk, eggs, and meat are major examples of food obtained from animals.
Examples of food sources:
Plant sources are listed below. They are:
Roots-radish, turnip, carrot, beetroot are some of the vegetable roots that are consumed.
Stem-Potato and ginger are the stems consumed as vegetables.
Leaves-Spinach, cabbage, lettuce are the leaves that are consumed as vegetables.
Flowers-Broccoli and cauliflower are the flowers that are consumed in vegetable form.
Fruits-Orange, mango, corn, and grapes are some of the fruits that humans eat.
Cereals-rice, wheat, maize, jowar, barley, etc.
Tea, coffee, and tea are commonly cultivated in southern parts of India. Even these are derived from plants.
Sugar-The plants also contain Sugar. It is extracted from plant sugarcane.
Oil-Oil is extractable from plant seeds and leaves. Some oil-producing plants include castor, mustard, and sunflower.
The plants receive spices-cinnamon, cardamom, pepper, clove, cumin seeds, and ginger and are used for cooking.
The animal sources are:
Milk - A great source of milk is obtained from cows, buffaloes, horses, goats, and camels. Often called milk as an ideal food. It is high in vitamins, minerals, proteins, fats, and carbohydrates.
Egg- For eggs and meat, chickens, ducks, geese, and quails are reared. The egg is a rich protein and vitamin source. The egg yolk is mostly composed of fat. Includes potassium, nitrogen, calcium, and iron.
Meat- Meat is made of two kinds, red meat, and white meat. Cow, goat, sheep, and pig meat has plenty of fat and is considered red meat. White meat is less fat and is made from chicken and fish. White meat is better than red meat and can be quickly digested. Meat is rich in proteins, fats, copper, iron, and phosphorus.

Additional Information: The reason one is recommended to eat fruits and vegetables regularly is that it is a rich nutrient source.
Animal products are a rich nutritional source too. Animal food contains several micronutrients, which are difficult to extract from plant sources. The food that they get is very nutritious and high in vitamins and proteins.

Note: There is a lot of variety of food that is consumed in various regions of India. Every living being has his or her food options. They are generally known as herbivores, carnivores, and omnivores according to their dietary habits. The herbivores only feed on the plants. Only the carnivores feed on prey. The Omnivores eat plants and animals both. Generally, human beings are referred to as omnivores.
