Hint: India accounts for about 3.5 per cent of the global wheat production. The area under wheat production is roughly 14 percent of the total area under cereals and 10 percent of the total area not of much importance in the south. The wheat is a rabi crop which is grown during summer months.

Complete Answer:
-Wheat may be cultivated, either by hand or by sewing machines. Germination begins instantly and the first leaves appear within a fortnight. Wheat is properly mannered and irrigated.

-The crop is harvested in March-April. Thrashing is the next process, and this involves the separation of the grain from the spike. Thrashing is generally done under the feet of bullocks or by Thrashing machines.

-After Thrashing the wheat is winnowed and refined. In Punjab recently the combines are instructed for the purpose.

-Soil preparation is done to loosen the soil. Machines involved in this process include plough, hoe and cultivator. Plough is usually made of wood and drawn by a pair of bulls or other animals. It has an iron strip called ploughshare which is used to loosen soil. Hoe is usually used to remove weeds and cultivator is a tractor.

-Seeds are restored into the funnel, passed down through two or three pipes having sharp ends. Nowadays, a seed drill is utilized with the assistance of a tractor. Sickle is the conventional means of harvesting and a modern means is a thresher machine which segregates the chaff and the grain.

Note:
-Madhya Pradesh is the wheat basket of India and produces the highest quantity of wheat.
-China is the largest wheat producing country which accounts for 21.92% of the world's wheat production.
