The human eye is an amazing organ that responds to light in different ways in different circumstances. Working as a conscious sense organ, the human eye allows vision for humans. It is a very crucial part of the human body.

Unfortunately, eyes are vulnerable to a lot of diseases which can result in vision loss. Thus the proper care of this organ is necessary. And if still one cannot solve any issue, they must visit a doctor to avoid anything serious.

The following are some ways in which one can take care of their eyes:

(i)Maintaining a proper balance diet: Whatever we eat directly reflects on our body. It is a common saying that we are what we eat. So one must maintain a proper balanced diet to acquire all the necessary nutrients and vitamins. These nutrients and vitamins in turn keep our body and its organs healthy.

(ii)Regular Exercise: Exercising regularly is very crucial to keep safe from a lot of diseases like high blood pressure and high level of cholesterol. These healthcare issues can have an effect on one's vision as well in the long run.

(iii)Wear sunglasses: Direct exposure to sun’s radiation can damage our eyes terribly and leave us at high risk of cataracts and macular degeneration. So in order to protect our eyes from the harmful UV radiations of the sun, we must opt to wear sunglasses when going out in high sunlight.

(iv)Wear Protective eyewear: When playing sports or in a work field such as factories that involve construction work, our eyes are at high risk of a physical injury. So one must make a habit to use protective eyewear.

(v)Avoid unnecessary screen time: The smart phones, laptops and other handheld devices all transmit blue light which is toxic for human eyes. This blue light damages our retina. Thus one should not spend too much time behind screens.

(vi)Proper rest: Our entire body needs rest to work efficiently. So do our eyes to avoid excessive strain. One must follow a proper sleep schedule and give their eyes the rest they need.

Note: In case someone feels constant headaches and eye pain. They must consult a doctor to know its cause. Additionally, one must make a habit of dilation, which is using eye drops to dilate or widen one’s pupil to ensure more light enters the eye.
