Hint: A type of pore which is normally found in plants like angiosperms is called Epithem. The presence of this epithem is vital to the plants. It is because they secrete water through pores in the epidermis of leaf margin. Typically, we can say that they release water at the tip of a marginal tooth or serration. Epithem is present in the leaves of submerged aquatic plants such as Ranunculus fluitans.
Complete answer:
- The action of concealing water precipitations from the tiny apertures of plants is called the process of Guttation. Guttation present in special spores. The spores are called hydathodes.
- The plants in which there is the presence of vascular systems, such as grass, wheat can have the mechanism of the process of guttation. It is said that this process can occur only when the soil is moist, thus, it occurs only in the duration of the night since the soil at the period of night is wet.
- Respiration includes the exchange of gases like oxygen and carbon dioxide. Transpiration includes the process of removal of water from the stomata. The process of photosynthesis includes the preparation of food to the plants. Such processes have no use of Epithem.
Hence, the correct answer is option (B).
Note: When there is a huge increase of root pressure (which is also called hydrostatic pressure), it leads to too much absorption of water in the direction of the plant. It is because the same (huge) amount of the water is squeezed out of the plant. That means the root pressure (which is also known as hydrostatic pressure) gets involved and forces the roots of the plant to move water upwards. Hence, we can say that the water which contains other soluble cell components is made to compel out of the xylem which is present in the Epithem tissue.
