Hint: Epithelial tissue is found all over the body. They form the covering of all body surfaces, body cavity, hollow organs, tissues etc. They perform major functions of secretion digestion, absorption, diffusion etc.

Complete answer:
Epithelial cell covers cells, glands, organs that derive from these and can be single layered or multilayered. These cells are closely packed and consist of many types of cell junction hence there is no intercellular space between them.
These cells have their own nerve supply but they lack any blood vessels hence called as avascular. The blood vessel that brings nutrients and help in removing waste is located next to it in connective tissue. These are subject to wear and tear hence they have high capacity of renewal.
Structure of epithelium cell:
There are different types of epithelium cell based on structure as in squamous epithelium, cuboidal epithelium and columnar epithelium.
The epithelium sits upon a skinny non-cellular fibrous membrane. This helps in separating the tissue from the underlying tissues.
The basement membrane is the fusion of two laminae.
Basement membranes lie between two layers of upper epidermis and lower dermis surrounded by proteins, etc.
The major function of a basement cell is to provide anchorage to the cell, filtration function, cell and tissue support and acts as a platform for complex signalling.

So, epithelial tissue rest on an extracellular basement membrane

Note:
Function of epithelial tissue:
Covering and lining the outer skin and internal organs.
Sometime act as glandular epithelial and makes the secretary portion of thyroid gland, sweat gland.
