Hint: They are non living. Feeds on the host body and makes use of enzyme machinery of the host for their replication.

Complete Answer:
A) A virus is a submicroscopic non living agent that can replicate only inside the cell of any living organisms. It is a small collection of genetic code, either DNA or RNA, surrounded by a protein coat.
- No virus contains both DNA and RNA. It has a very basic structure starting from inside a nucleic acid which is surrounded by a protein coat that’s in the form of capsid, or little small units that are assembled in a certain way.
- Some viruses also have an envelope which they obtain as they emerge from the cell. Cell membrane, protoplasm, ribosome, etc are absent in viruses. Since it lacks metabolism hence it lacks the enzyme also.

B) Algae possess the ability to produce enzymes during the process of algal photosynthesis. Algae use phosphoglycolate phosphatase and glycolate oxidase as metabolic enzymes.

C) Bacteria are the factories that produce enzymes. They use enzymes to degradation of protein into their components amino acids, this process is called proteolysis.

D) Fungi comprise a rich source of exceptional enzymes like lipases, cellulose, amylase etc. with the most complex diversity in nature.

Enzymes are absent in viruses so the correct option is (D) i.e. virus.

Note: From the above discussion it is clear that viruses do not have enzymes because most of the basic cellular structures are absent in viruses, they have either DNA or RNA as genetic material which activates only inside the host body.
