We already know that the water molecule $ {H_2}O $ is composed of two hydrogen atoms, each hydrogen is linked with oxygen by a single chemical bond.
A water molecule is made up of two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom. The oxygen atom has six electrons in its outer shell and it can hold a total of eight electrons. It binds with two hydrogen and completes its outer electron shell.
Water has a very simple chemical formula $ {H_2}O $ but it shows very complex chemical and physical properties. The shape of the water molecule is not linear but it has a special bent shape. The bond angle of water is $ {104.5^0} $ i.e. the angle between two hydrogen’s atoms bonded with the same oxygen atom.
It exist in three forms of matter i.e. ice in solid form, water in liquid form and vapour in gaseous form. Water is less dense when it is liquid than in its solid form i.e. ice. This anomaly is due to its electronic structure.
The distance of the $ O - H $ bond is $ 95.7 $ picometers. This is due to the electronegativity difference between carbon and hydrogen. The oxygen is more electronegative than hydrogen. Therefore it bears a partial negative charge and hydrogen bears a partial positive charge.
Hence, $ {H_2}O $ is made out of hydrogen and oxygen elements.

The melting point of water is $ {0^o}C{\text{ }}\left( {{{32}^o}F} \right) $ and boiling point is $ {100^o}C{\text{ }}\left( {{{212}^o}F} \right) $ which is much higher than the compounds such as Hydrogen sulfide and ammonia. Remember that $ {H_2}O $ is a polar molecule as it has electronegativity difference between carbon and hydrogen.
