Hint:
Mohammed Ghori was first defeated in the Battle of Kayadara near Mt. Abu, in 1178. Then again in 1191, he was defeated by the Rajputs in the First battle of Tarain, which was 80 miles away from Delhi.

Complete step by step solution:
Muhammad Ghori (r. 1173-1206 CE) was the Muslim emperor who laid the foundation for the subsequent Islamic ruling Indian dynasties, which later saw its peak in the Mughal Empire (1526-1857 CE). He ruled a large region of modern-day Afghanistan , Pakistan, India , Iran, Bangladesh, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, along with his elder brother Ghiyath al-Din Muhammad (c. 1139-1202 CE), commonly known as the Ghurid or the Ghorid Dynasty.

While he was defeated in several wars, especially by Chahamana ruler Prithviraj III (r. 1178-1192 CE) in the First Battle of Tarain in 1191 CE, by Gujrati Chalukya ruler Mularaja II c. 1178 A.D. and through the rulers of the Khwarazm Kingdom, he never gave up his conquest and founded a large empire. However, until he was assassinated in 1206 CE, he did not consolidate his kingdom. His primary goal was to annex further provinces, and he used his faith as a shrewd general if it became appropriate to motivate his armies.

Hence, the correct answer is option B.

Note:
The Second Battle of Tarain was won by Ghori because of betrayal from Jai Chand due to the enmity between him and Prithviraj. The Rajput Regiment in India failed and never recovered after the victory of Muhammad Ghori. The Turkish rulers ruled India for the next three hundred years after this victory. After the country had no more Rajput rulers or any powerful Hindu rulers, India and the Hindus succumbed to Islamic practises in the country. In 1192, the beginning of Turkish rule gave rise to other Muslim rulers like the Mughals in the world in the centuries to come.
